Due to changes in legislation, from 6th April 2013, HMRC are introducing a new online filing system called RTI, Real Time Information.
Under this new system Employers will be required to send PAYE data to HMRC every time they pay their employees ie weekly or monthly, rather than just annually with the end-of-year Return P35.
The reason for this change is to provide HMRC with ‘Live data’ which will support the introduction of the new Universal Credits, totally overhauling the state benefits system, reducing fraud and ensuring people receive the correct monies they are entitled to.
